Cadence / The Path brings together moving image, running, rhythm, biometric data and landscape.
The works developed from recording the body in motion: running through fog, weather, fatigue and unstable terrain while gathering GPS traces, heart-rate data, sound and video. Rather than using data as evidence or performance tracking, the work treats it as material — a way of translating effort, pressure, attention and disorientation into image, sound and light.
In The Path, a mountain run becomes a moving image work layered with GPS and biometric overlays. The screen holds a record of movement through mist, gradient and exhaustion, where navigation becomes uncertain and the body is pushed between control and drift.
Cadence expands this research into an audio-visual installation using dual-screen video, DMX lighting and sound. Developed through Digital Evolution and DAS / XR Lab, the work explores how rhythm, feedback systems and live technical structures can make bodily experience spatial.
Together, the works sit between documentation, performance and interface, asking how technologies of tracking, mapping and measurement shape the way we understand physical experience.
